Nekhbet at Himalayas

For me, Egyptian stands for mysterious. I don't mean that Egyptians look like aliens. I have never visited Egypt and the very first image which come in my mind with term Egypt is Nile river civilization and the huge pyramids. So over the course of time I have developed an enigmatic Image for Egypt and its culture. So when I heard about the Egyptian Vulture for the very first time, I thought about it as an enigmatic species. It felt like it had witnessed the growth and decline of civilization or had to do something with it. But I never knew that it really had a connection with Egyptian civilization. In ancient Egyptian mythology, there was a Goddess named "Nekhbet" whose totemic form was Egyptian white vulture. It was considered to be existed only as female as there is no sexual dimorphism. They were supposed to reproduce by parthenogenesis. Nekhbet was responsible for motherhood, queenship, wild birds, life creator, death and rebirth. I had seen Vultures many times during

COMMUNICATION

Image
Last year I was requested by one of my friend to have a discussion on "The origin of communication" so that he could develop an idea to make a synopsis report. Our discussion started with "interaction" rather than "communication". Our discussion on communication was also a communication. We concluded that the communication was the factor without which even the universe would have not come into existence. For communication between two subjects, 3 things are essential: Transmitter (which transmits a signal) Signal(which carries information) Receptor or Receiver (which receives a signal) In general after getting received, a signal (say an audio signal, received by ear) is amplified ( like middle ear amplifies sound by 3 small bones) and then converted into other form (electrical signal in inner ear), which is transmitted to other center (like brain) where it could be properly interpreted to understand what transmitter wants to convey. ARE THEY OUR ANCESTORS?

My camera captured these lovely photographs in WII campus, just outside my hostel. These creatures are also at the tip of evolution, in their own linage. Sometimes, perhaps, we think that the ultimate product of evolution is human beings. But its not true. We think so only because we are highly advanced in terms of development of brain. In other terms, we may be far behind. For example, in terms of social development, many insects are highly developed. Best example is Honey Bee. In terms of social development it has evolved so well that many scientists consider them as superorganisms. In terms of social delopment we have evolved well, but still very very far away from honey bee, an invertebrate. There always have been a great conflict between religion and science over idea of organic evolution. Science believes in the concept of evolution. In fact, it is the very basic idea of life science. But religion has a very different idea. Almost all religions believe that the v

WAKE UP BEFORE SUNRISE

This pholograph is from WII campus. I joined Wildlife Institute of India (WII), dehradun on 15 October. It was really very difficult for me to leave Delhi, where i had been living from my childhood. Actually, in last few months, i have become highly attached with my city. But i had no option left because i was going for something which i always have been dreaming. On my first day i met with some seniors. One of them, named Ravi Parmar, advised me to visit WII campus early morning to see huge avian biodiversity. I woke up around 8:30 am. I was told that i was late. I went to watch campus, accompanied by some seniors. I did not encounter many birds. Perhaps, i was really late. But I still managed to capture this beautiful photograph of two Egrets. I realized once again (Which I had realized many times before)that if you really want your day to worth fully, wake up early before sunrise.

I WOULD NOT LIKE TO SAY IN FUTURE, " WHY DID NOT I TRY? "

Nothing could be more satisfactory than to live your passion, to live your dream. I can not look into everybody's mind, but i think that only few people are lucky enough to know at right time, what they are really meant for. Most of us just keep on living, some because of some sort of helplessness & responsibilities, and others because of lack of knowledge of real they. But i don't want to get counted among those who say to themselves in later part, "why didn't i try? At least i should have taken a chance. "
